The NSCA Foundation is the national voice for workplace health and safety in Australia. As a not-for-profit, member-based organisation it educates and informs organisations and individuals requiring workplace health and safety information. For over 90 years, we have been working with Australian businesses across all industries, providing sustainable solutions and protecting business' most important asset – people.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Events Manager to assist and support the organisation in delivering a growing number of events, including a national conference, state-based forums and member networking events, webinar series, and the annual awards program including the gala dinner. Reporting to the CEO, and working with a small close-knit team, this role involves the organisation and management of these key events including; identifying and procuring speakers, finding suitable locations, caterers, and technical suppliers and assuring the minute details that can make or break and event.

The NSCA Foundation has a proud reputation within the Australian safety fraternity for creating leading events that combine speaker quality and networking availability.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Plan and manage the annual calendar of conferences, awards, forums, webinars, and member events
• Oversee event budgets and supplier relationships
• Coordinate programs, speakers, sponsorship, registrations, and marketing support
• Deliver seamless in-person and virtual events, including onsite and online management from concept to completion
• Maintain strong relationships with members, sponsors, and partners
• Promote sponsorship and membership opportunities where appropriate

This is a hybrid role with a mix of office (Sydney CBD - meetings twice a month or bi-monthly), majority remote work, and an interstate travel to deliver events.

Your skills

• Minimum 2 - 3 years' demonstrated experience in events with a particular focus on end-to-end customer experience, processes and execution
• Formal qualifications in Events is a bonus, but not essential
• Confident in both digital and traditional event delivery
• Possess strong event planning and management experience
• Be able to build strong lasting relationship with stakeholders
• Highly organised
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Impeccable attention to detail and timing/timelines
• Comfortable with technology (AV, webinar platforms, CMS, video recording)
• Experience of using design software e.g. InDesign, Photoshop (desirable)
• Enthusiastic, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering outstanding events

Experience of working in a membership focused organisation or not-for-profit would be advantageous.

Whilst this is a full-time role, the NSCA Foundation is a flexible workplace and regular hours or patterns of work can be adapted depending on staff requirements.
