Role Description
We are looking for a Contract Sys Admin to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. This is a role that requires in-office work. You will be required to come in to the office during office hours for three days a week. As a Contract Sys Admin, you will have the following responsibilities.
- Monitor E-mail, Jira ticketing system and text alerts for issues.
- Create and perform modifications to virtual machines as needed, including increasing memory or CPU and adding storage.
- Assist in troubleshooting and correcting issues with developer desktop systems.
- Assist remote workers with VPN issues and system access.
- Correct problems that may arise with the Git and Subversion source code repositories and Gitlab service.
- Assist developers with build environment issues, including Oracle database issues.
- Monitor backup procedures and perform offsite transfer of backup media.
- Ensuring data security and security monitoring.
- Other tasks as may be required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a System Administration or similar role
- Experience with administering Linux and Windows-based operating systems
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms
- Experience with networking protocols and tools
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Proxmox or VMware
- Experience in managing Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD, Postfix, Dovecot or Cyrus IMAP
- Experience working on server class hardware from vendors such as Lenovo, IBM, Dell and Oracle required. We do not require experience with these specific vendors, just server class systems in general, but knowledge of these vendor's system would be a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
