JC4S Branch ILS Manager

Downer Professional Services is proud to be Defence's strategic workforce partner within Joint Systems Division, following a competitive tender process. As part of this win, Team Downer MSP now support two critical system program offices within the JC4S Branch:

• Integrated Command, Control and Communications Systems Program Office (IC3 SPO)
• Integrated Warfighting Networks Systems Program Office (IWN SPO)

These SPOs deliver secure, integrated communications and enable seamless coordination across the Australian Defence Force. This is a proud milestone for our team as we continue to drive mission-critical capability forward.

We are seeking permanent ILS Consultants and Managers based in Canberra to support this Integrated Work Package.

What You'll Do
 

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

• Lead ILS planning and execution across Defence domains and coordination with acquisition and sustainment teams to deliver outcomes
• Manage logistics operations, including supply chain coordination, storage and distribution, and liaising with suppliers and Commonwealth stakeholders to ensure timely and effective support.
• Provide expert ILS guidance, applying first-principles asset management, reviewing contract deliverables, and recommending improvements or corrective actions.
• Identify and mitigate support risks, develop local procedures, monitor work practices, and support the transition of support responsibilities to sustainment.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively, sharing knowledge with project teams, influencing blended workforces, and balancing competing priorities while adhering to Defence values.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience with ILS or supply chain management in a Defence environment

• Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to manage and influence stakeholders

• Expertise in ILS, asset and data management of Defence inventory

• Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures to provide guidance and solutions

• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
