Salary Range: $99,458 per annum + 12% super and benefits (Sole Electronics Tech)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Manager, Radio and Telecommunications, you'll be primarily responsible within your geographical area for ensuring the 24x7 operation, maintenance and support of the NSW Ambulance digital and analogue Private Mobile Radio (PMR), related assets such as mobile and portable radios including connectivity to the Public Safety Network (PSN), satellite phones, and supporting ICT infrastructure at stations and control centres. The Technician may from time-to-time perform this primary responsibility in areas outside of their area of responsibility at the request of the Manager Telecommunications.
A critical aspect of the role is the 24x7 Operational support of telecommunications during significant incidents and events, for example bush fires and adverse weather.
ABOUT YOU
You are a proactive, experienced telecommunications technician with a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for supporting frontline emergency services. You are comfortable working independently across varied locations and handling high-pressure situations calmly and professionally.
You will bring:

Question 1: You have been advised that Ambulance crews using a particular analog radio site / channel can hear the dispatcher, however the dispatcher cannot hear them. The radio site is part of the NSW Ambulance PMR network and is connected to the remainder of the PMR network via an RF link to a "hub" site. The link at the hub site is part of a "Talk-through Link" and the Base (TTR) at the hub site is operating normally. Describe how you would go about diagnosing the fault.
Question 2: You are the sole response to the failure of a radio site. Once on site, you diagnose a failure of the Base (TTR) antenna, located on the tower at a height of 30 metres. The time is around midday, and you are carrying a suitable replacement antenna in your vehicle. What would your next steps be?
