About the role

The Billings Optimisation Officer will play a critical role ensuring Capitol Health clinics effectively and efficiently bill for patient scans.

The role of the Billings Optimisation Officer is to support the delivery and continuous improvement of a national billing model to deliver effective billing processes across the organisation. This includes billing audits, developing resources and supporting strong change management in the RIS of billing MBS codes.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Help facilitate the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of:
    • Admin Billing Policies, defining acceptable billing based on MBS knowledge
    • Billing related training and materials
    • Billing compliance audits
  • Chair the National Billing Committee to oversee and monitor billing performance
  • Effectively engage key business stakeholders and work collaboratively to gain endorsement for billing optimization. This includes setting up and leading Working Groups and workshop facilitation where appropriate
  • Help facilitate change within the Operational teams to ensure the improvements are understood and embedded.
  • Champion clinic billing within the RIS development
  • Support in the management of revenue assurance including Medicare compliance and audit processes, and revenue optimisation is consistently reviewed

Skills and experience

  • Expertise in Medicare billing and administration in radiology industry.
  • High level knowledge and skills set in RIS applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience in building relationships across a broad range of business positions.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment in decision making and have exceptional time management and prioritization skills.
  • Positive, flexible approach with the ability to manage ambiguity and work in a fast-paced environment.
