Job Description

The role

As a Business Banking Senior Assessor, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping lending decisions by assessing complex consumer and commercial credit applications, while driving quality and efficiency across the business banking portfolio. This dynamic position blends strategic influence with hands-on decision-making, offering the opportunity to coach frontline teams, enhance workflows, and contribute directly to Beyond Bank's growth and service excellence. In this role, you will

• Assess and approve consumer and commercial credit applications with precision, aligned to Beyond Bank's lending policies and risk appetite.
• Deliver fast, high-quality decisions, aiming for a 12-hour turnaround to support business momentum and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and mitigate risk, recommending improvements to lending policies and practices to strengthen the Bank's credit framework.
• Champion continuous learning, sharing insights and expertise with peers and Lending Consultants to elevate team capability.
• Review and coach developing lenders by providing constructive feedback on application quality and lending decisions.
• Provide expert support with professionalism and warmth, ensuring timely and effective assistance across the business.
• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, backed by deep residential and commercial lending experience and confident negotiation skills.
• Build trusted relationships, offering transparent decision-making, collaborative coaching, and a commitment to respectful, inclusive workplace culture.

By joining Credit Management (MCT), you will play a key role in assessing commercial and business loan applications submitted by loan consultants. In addition to evaluating applications, MCT also reviews property valuations and changes to loan securities.
