About The Role
The Nursing Director, Mental Health (MH) Community and Acute Services provides professional leadership to all nursing staff within Mental Health Community and Acute Services, within the Mental Health and Specialised Services division. The role provides operational leadership and management to the Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS).
The Nursing Director provides contemporary clinical leadership through the role modelling and application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the translation of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- High level knowledge of contemporary mental health nursing practice and capacity in professional and operational leadership and management to engage and motivate stakeholders to achieve quality consumer outcomes.
- Commitment to outcome-driven performance and organisational achievement.
- Works effectively within a leadership team in responding to the demands of complex healthcare environments.
- High-level interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, ability to consult, negotiate, and liaise effectively with (internal and external) key stakeholders, people with a mental illness, their families and/or carers.
- Advanced level knowledge and understanding of the key concepts of national and state mental health legislation, policies, frameworks and standards.

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
