The organisation

The IRO is an independent statutory office established under the Personal Injury Commission Act 2020.

The statutory functions of the IRO include to:

  • find solutions for persons injured at work or in motor vehicle accidents with complaints about their insurers;
  • manage and administer the Independent Legal Assistance and Review Service (ILARS);
  • conduct inquiries into matters arising in connection with the operation of the Personal Injury Commission Act 2020 and the workers' compensation and motor vehicle accident legislation.

About the role

We are excited to share with you the fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Senior P&C Business Partner to work with the business in building a high performing, accountable and inclusive workforce to deliver on strategic and operational priorities.

What a typical workday could include

  • Partnering with executive and senior business leaders to co-design workforce initiatives to support their people strategies
  • Demonstrating your facilitation skills to deliver strategically aligned workshops to a range of stakeholders
  • Acting as a trusted partner, translating organisational objectives into quality organisational and talent management initiatives
  • Leading and supporting the delivery of people projects, including Change and Restructure Management programs of work
  • Ensuring policies and processes are aligned with best practices

What you bring to the role

You are a person who thrives in a highly connected and collaborative team with a strong culture, and:

  • Enjoys empathising, coaching and partnering with stakeholders from entry level up to executive level.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of HR frameworks and practices such as change management, organisational design, behavioural science and/or organisational psychology
  • Can provide clear, focused and pragmatic advice to people leaders to build leadership capability
  • Able to identify and advise on people related issues, exercising sound judgment, empathy and discretion when dealing with sensitive and complex people, culture and workforce issues to deliver positive productive and inclusive workforce solutions
  • Strong listening and communication skills to engage and deeply collaborate with stakeholders

Essential Requirements

  • Business partnering experience
  • Proven track record of working towards change
  • Mentoring and supporting leaders with team management and goal setting
  • Ability to deliver and strengthen workplace culture
  • Learning and development experience, desirable
