
Tribunal Agent – NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal

About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly professional individual with a background in Property Management and strong communication skills to act as a Tribunal Agent for matters relating to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT). This position focuses on assisting the company in handling disputes and applications related to residential tenancy, consumer claims, administrative reviews, building disputes, and zoning orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company at NCAT hearings
- Prepare and lodge applications, evidence statements, witness declarations, and other required tribunal documentation
- Provide preliminary case assessments, including feasibility and risk analysis
- Communicate with clients to explain legal processes and potential outcomes
- Manage case timelines, ensuring compliance with deadlines and documentation standards
- Liaise with opposing parties or representatives to explore mediation or settlement options
- Assist in drafting legal documents for tribunal use, such as Consent Orders or review applications
- Follow up on tribunal outcomes, judgment enforcement, and post-hearing client support
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English
- Solid understanding of NCAT's jurisdiction, procedural rules, and documentation standards
- Experience appearing at NCAT hearings, particularly in Tenancy, Guardianship, or Administrative Review divisions (preferred)
- Strong legal writing, analysis, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and client service abilities
- Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple cases
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
