Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people aged 16 and over within the community?

Anglicare Tasmania is seeking a permanent, part-time Practitioner – Health and Wellbeing (Mental Health) working 60.8 hours per fortnight based in Launceston.

About the Role:

The Mental Health Recovery Program is a one-to-one support service for people that have been diagnosed with mental health condition and who live in independent accommodation. The program assists people to overcome barriers that get in the way of their efforts to attain a desired life, by providing on-to-one support. Recovery focuses on a strengths based, person-centred approach and can include assisting people to achieve goals, strengthening connections to ongoing supports and networks and to test eligibility for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

To be successful you will have:

  • An understanding of the processes people utilise to overcome adversity/distress arising from life challenges.
  • An ability to recognise and understand people's intrinsic resourcefulness.
  • Provide support in a manner consistent with Anglicare's values and practice principles.
  • Demonstrate high level of communication and interpersonal skills with people who access our services, family/carers, colleagues, other service providers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to accurately document and maintain records.
  • Demonstrated experience with relevant information and communication technologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously within organisational policy and procedure.
  • A high level of professionalism and a willingness to develop and reflect on professional practice.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Psychology, Social work, Nursing and Allied Health) or extensive experience and qualifications (Diploma of Community Services) deemed equivalent and/or clearly demonstrated experience in Community Services.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
  • provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
  • provide a satisfactory Anglicare-assessed medical:
  • provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver's Licence.

On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.

This position is available for an immediate start and applications will be shortlisted upon receipt.
