Processing Coordinator — Geelong Workshop

Hanlon Industries is seeking a confident, capable Processing Coordinator to join our high-performing fabrication workshop in Geelong. This hands-on leadership role is critical to the efficient and safe delivery of processed steel ready for fabrication. You'll take ownership of quality, safety, people, efficiency, and scheduling, helping to drive exceptional outcomes across every project.

About the Role

As Processing Coordinator, you'll lead and coordinate steel processing operations under the direction of the Production Manager. You'll oversee core workshop activities such as cutting, drilling, plasma cutting, and beamline operations, ensuring that safety, quality, and scheduling expectations are consistently met and exceeded.

What You'll Do
  • Implement and oversee daily job activities to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Lead, motivate, and hold the team accountable to Hanlon's standards of safety, quality, and performance.
  • Coordinate materials, tooling, equipment, and delivery schedules to meet project timelines.
  • Interpret and act upon technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Manage job scheduling and progress boards in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Attend prestart and toolbox meetings as required, and carry out SWMS reviews, safety and quality inspections, and staff inductions.
  • Complete OHS&E, NCR, and procurement documentation accurately and on time.
  • Foster a clean, safe, and productive workshop environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold Hanlon's ISO-certified systems.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven leadership skills in a production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of processing automation machinery and/or machine maintenance (highly regarded).
  • Clear communication and a proactive, team-first approach.
  • Confidence to make decisions.
  • Familiarity with fabrication tools and workshop operations.
  • Administrative discipline for documentation, reporting, and ordering.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Proficiency in computer tools and systems.
  • A tidy, professional presentation and attitude.
