Corio, Victoria, Australia Hanlon Industries Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

At Hanlon Industries, we've built our reputation on delivering excellence in steel fabrication and construction. With over 20 years of success across Australasia, we're looking for a Weld Inspector / Fabrication Checker to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, safety, and accuracy of our fabricated steel structures.

About the Role

This role is all about precision and compliance. You'll be the critical link in making sure our fabricated steel meets the highest standards through inspections, verification, and collaboration with our fabrication and project teams.

You'll:

  • Conduct weld inspections and dimensional checks against drawings and standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee NDT testing where required.
  • Verify traceability of materials, weld consumables, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports.
  • Work closely with welders, supervisors, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues.
  • Support audits, client inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You

You're a detail-driven professional with a strong eye for quality and safety. You know how to read the fine print in drawings, weld symbols, and specs—and you've got the confidence to back it up.

What we're looking for:

  • Engineering, trade, or inspection qualification (IWI-B, IWI-S, Cert 10/11 highly regarded).
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes, and standards (AS/NZS 1554, ISO, AWS).
  • Experience with dimensional control methods and measuring equipment (tape, calipers, micrometers, laser tools).
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and reporting skills.
  • Clear communicator and confident collaborator.
  • Commitment to Hanlon's safety-first and quality-driven culture.
Why Hanlon?

At Hanlon Industries, you'll be part of a proudly independent, family-owned business that values excellence, initiative, and integrity.

When you join us, you'll enjoy:

  • Being part of a multi award-winning company with ISO-certified systems.
  • Opportunities to develop and grow within a supportive and collaborative team.
  • A role where your skills directly impact the safety, quality, and strength of major projects across Australasia.
