Nomads Sydney, a bustling 450-bed backpacker's hostel in the heart of Sydney's CBD, and connected to the legendary Scary Canary Bar, is on the lookout for a vigilant, safety-focused Night Auditor If you're passionate about hospitality and take pride in ensuring a safe, secure environment, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role:

As Night Auditor, you'll be the trusted face of Nomads Sydney throughout the night, balancing essential safety responsibilities with exceptional guest service. You'll keep a close eye on hostel security, monitor entry points, and perform thorough property checks to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. While creating a positive atmosphere for guests, you'll also handle reception duties and support the night cleaning team to ensure every guest has a secure and comfortable stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nightly audits and reconciliation tasks, ensuring accuracy in daily reports and maintaining financial accountability.
  • Perform routine security checks across the property, identifying and addressing potential issues such as unauthorized access, noise disturbances, and cleanliness concerns.
  • Act swiftly in conflict resolution, handling any guest complaints or disturbances with professionalism and authority.
  • Partner with overnight cleaners to ensure hostel cleanliness meets guest standards.
  • Ensure guest security and privacy are prioritised, monitoring access points and upholding hostel policies.
  • Provide friendly, helpful guest service throughout the night, from check-ins to handling inquiries.
  • Carry out all standard reception duties throughout the night, including guest check-ins and check-outs, responding to emails and phone enquiries, processing payments, and managing general front desk operations.

We're Looking for Someone Who Has:

  • A strong background in hospitality or security, with experience in Front Office, Night Audit, or a similar role.
  • A commitment to creating a secure, friendly environment for guests and team members.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills, able to respond quickly and calmly in any situation.
  • High computer literacy, strong organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently on overnight shifts (11 pm - 7 am) on a rotating roster, including weekends.
