We're offering an 18-month Graduate Program designed to give you hands-on experience across all areas of our business with a permanent role guaranteed at the end. This program is ideal for critical thinkers who enjoy highly varied work in a fast-paced, well-supported environment, with a mix of on-site and office-based with opportunities to travel across Australia.

This program is designed to develop you into a well-rounded occupational hygienist and safety professional, with ongoing training and exposure to safety specialists to build competency across the diverse range of services and industries supported by JTA.

What You'll Do

Rotate through key departments — Health, Noise, and Safety — learning by doing:

  • Audiometric Testing & Reports;
  • Occupational Noise Assessments;
  • Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Auditing & Risk Assessments;
  • Occupational Hygiene Assessments;
  • Environmental & construction noise and vibration monitoring;
  • OHS Auditing;
  • Sales, client liaison, and quoting; and
  • Project coordination and technical equipment use.

We're after motivated graduates who are:

  • Holders of a tertiary STEM degree (Science or Engineering preferred)
  • Adaptable, positive, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage time effectively
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Confident in report writing, analysis, and critical thinking
  • Customer-focused and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Hold a current Australian driver's license (manual preferred) and permanent residency
  • Bonus Points For; White Card, Working at Heights training, Completion of the AIOH Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene course, Experience in asbestos/hazmat surveys

Program Structure

The program begins with an introduction to sales, the JTA way, and our internal systems to give you a solid understanding of the full client journey and how we implement our Detect & Protect mantra. You'll then undertake your journey in screening audiometry. From there, you'll shadow occupational hygienists and hazardous materials consultants to gain practical experience in conducting asbestos and hazmat surveys or occupational noise assessments. As you build confidence in each service area, you'll be gradually introduced to new disciplines while continuing to apply and reinforce previous learnings. To cap off the program, you'll complete the AIOH Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene course—equipping you for more advanced work in occupational hygiene.
