About the role

Join the team at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge as our new Head Chef. In this full-time, on-site position, you will lead our passionate kitchen brigade to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Located in the beautiful Beechmont region of Queensland, you will be responsible for all culinary operations, from menu planning to kitchen management.

What you'll be doing

  1. Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and staff management
  2. Develop innovative and seasonal menus that showcase local, high-quality produce
  3. Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
  4. Manage and mentor a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff
  5. Maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised kitchen environment
  6. Collaborate with the management team to align culinary offerings with the brand and guest expectations

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or in an equivalent senior culinary role
  2. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing kitchen teams
  3. Exceptional culinary skills and a deep understanding of contemporary cuisine trends
  4. Strong background in resort or hotel dining operations is highly preferred
  5. Strong time management and organisational abilities to oversee all kitchen operations
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with guests and team members
  7. Passion for using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
  8. Food safety and hygiene certification

We are located approximately 90 minutes from Brisbane and 40 minutes from the Gold Coast. No onsite accommodation.
