Who We Are

Neurodiverse Playhouse is an innovative paediatric allied health service delivering neuroaffirming, relationship-based care for children and young people. We support children from infancy through to high-performing teenage athletes, using play, movement, and connection as the foundation for therapy. Our Brisbane team is expanding, and we're excited to welcome a physiotherapist who wants to grow with us.

About the Role

This role offers a varied and engaging caseload, blending developmental physiotherapy, musculoskeletal care, and youth athletic support. You will work with neurodivergent and neurotypical children using child-led, play-based, and developmentally informed approaches, adapting therapy to meet each child's unique needs.

A key component of this role includes supporting children through primitive reflex integration, particularly where reflex retention impacts coordination, regulation, posture, or functional movement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver physiotherapy to infants, children, and adolescents
  • Use play-based, child-led interventions grounded in developmental principles
  • Assess and address gross motor development, movement patterns, and strength
  • Incorporate primitive reflex integration strategies into therapy plans
  • Provide musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy for growing bodies
  • Use taping, stretching, and soft-tissue techniques where clinically appropriate
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Speech Therapists, and other allied health professionals
  • Support families through education, goal-setting, and ongoing communication
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records

About You

  • AHPRA-registered Physiotherapist
  • Strong understanding of childhood development and motor learning
  • Experience or interest in paediatric physiotherapy
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, primitive reflex integration
  • Confident working in a play-based, child-led therapy model
  • Competent in taping, stretching, and soft-tissue techniques
  • Comfortable working across a wide age range, including adolescent athletes
  • Collaborative, reflective, and values-driven practitioner
  • Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
