The Role:
Grade 1 Occupational Therapist - Community
Full time, ongoing.
We have an opportunity for passionate Grade 1 Occupational Therapist within the Community Therapy team at Northern Health. This Grade 1 role provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/participants within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC-PYP). These services provide support and maintenance to people living at home and whose capacity for independent living is at risk, or who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long-term residential care. The CHSP service specifically provides home and community services for people aged 65 and over.
The Grade 1 Occupational Therapist will be accountable for providing quality client care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, planning and implementation of treatment plans, with an appropriate level of supervision. This role will be based primarily at Broadmeadows Hospital, however the staff member may be required to travel and work across other Northern Health campuses and programs.
The Occupational Therapy service at Northern Health prides itself on being inclusive, supportive and committed to evidence-based practice. We are a team driven by positive patient outcomes and team work. The NH OT service employs over 100 staff and are consistently striving to provide opportunities to support staff growth and development.
The Northern Health Occupational Therapy department is committed to high levels of patient centred care, evidence based practice, regular supervision and support of all staff.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of clients living within the community
- Proven ability to work well in a team
- Interest in working with over 65-year old's
- A positive attitude to lifelong learning
