About us:

Agile Mining Services is a privately owned company, based in Adelaide, providing specialist technical, mining, and mineral processing services to the South Australian iron ore industry. Our operations located near Coober Pedy currently mine and export 3Mtpa+ high grade Iron ore.

About the opportunity:

Agile Mining Services currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bus Driver/Facilities maintainer to safely transport our mine workers to and from the airport, site and ad hoc driving to the town of Coober Pedy. On occasions the role may be required to drive to Adelaide.

Reporting directly to the Production Superintendent, your time will be divided between driving responsibilities and maintaining facilities duties e.g., housekeeping, and utilities tasks around the mine site as required.

This role is currently based at our Buzzard Mine site, however, may be required to work or be based at another site or operation. You must be an experienced bus driver to apply for this role.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting pre-start inspections daily prior to operating any plant, equipment or vehicle.
  • Driving and operating the bus in a safe and compliant manner in all weather conditions.
  • Refueling of busses on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring that all common areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Toilets to be checked and serviced throughout the day.
  • Supplies in kitchens restocked.
  • Commitment to abide by strict WHS requirements.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in passenger transporting, such as with coach busses.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and hazard/ incident reporting.
  • Ability to present fit for work with a zero-blood alcohol reading.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable bus driving rules and regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willing to do some cleaning during bus driving down times.

Desirable:

  • Heavy Vehicle Driver's License.
  • Previous mine site experience.

Additional requirements:

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Be site based on an even 2/2 roster. You will be paid for two weeks and then have two weeks off.
  • Work at other sites.
  • Work 12-hour days on a split shift.
