Short Description

As a Python Developer with a focus on GIS, you will be responsible for the development and customization of Physical Network Inventory (PNI) tools within a Scaled Agile delivery framework. You will collaborate closely with solution architects and Technical Leads to understand requirements, document low-level designs, develop and unit test features, and work with vendors to ensure the solution is deployed in accordance with the defined architecture.

Your role will also involve assisting management with governance and status preparations, establishing development, test, and support processes, and ensuring your deliverables meet the required quality gates. You will work with various customer groups and program stakeholders to deliver outcomes within defined timeframes. Knowledge of GIS, Physical Network Inventory, Networking, and Network analytics is highly advantageous for this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work in client-facing roles to contribute towards the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of complex and large-scale Physical Network Inventory system.
  • Hands-on experience on delivery lifecycle of initiatives.
  • Strong customer services focus with an ability to respond to changing customer priorities
  • High level and detailed design artifacts for the initiatives/projects
  • Inputs to Test Plan and Test Strategy
  • Develop code using Test driven development (TDD)
  • Ensuring software developed meets quality standards through code and design reviews.
  • Participate or provide documentation for any product reviews of deliverables during the project execution
  • Contribute to Status Reports
  • Contribute towards strategy initiatives for our clientele.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal assistance

Skills /Competencies

  • Proficiency in Python with advanced libraries like Pandas and Numpy
  • Experience with GIS software and spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, Spatialite)
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS
  • Experience in SQL, PostgreSQL
  • 5+ years of Python development experience
  • Good understanding of Iron Python and ActiveMQ
  • GIT, CI/CD, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker experience preferable
  • Prior experience with AWS technologies (e.g., Lambda)
  • Ability to update and maintain test suite using PyTest
  • Working knowledge of Agile lifecycle management tools like JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience in Network design exchange formats (GML, MapInfo), network data analysis, etc. are added advantages
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • SAFe certified

Educational Qualifications
:

  • Engineering Bachelors or master's degree level or equivalent
