At Community Connection, we believe that individuals with disabilities and their families deserve fulfilling lives and meaningful community engagement. Since 1992, we've provided dedicated support services to Individuals and families across Townsville and North Queensland. Our team members are handpicked for their passion, alignment with our values, and commitment to meeting the unique needs of those we support.

About the Role:

As a Lifestyle Assistant you will engage primarily with one Individual while having the opportunity to extend your impact to others. You will work with the Individual and their family to ensure that they can live life to their full potential while also providing guidance to achieve personal goals that align with their NDIS plan. You will provide in home support including assistance with domestic duties and personal care, while also promoting engagement within the community.

Previous experience in disability support is desirable but not essential. We are looking for Lifestyle Assistants who are empathetic, compassionate and innovative with a willingness to make a positive difference on someone's life.

Weekend, Day and Sleepover shifts available

About You:

Are you committed to making a difference in someone's life? Do you have what it takes to assist someone to live their best life?

  • You will hold a current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain), NDIS Workers Screening Card (or yellow card), drivers license, reliable vehicle with insurance.
  • Working rights in Australia are required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility with work hours – some weekends and sleepovers are required.
  • Experience with High Care, Behaviour Support Plans and challenging behaviours
  • Empathetic and compassionate with a drive to promote independence for someone living with a disability.
