The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Sonographers / Radiographer Sonographers – Senior (Medical Imaging) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Perform, independent real time ultrasound examinations
  • Responsible for the primary detection, evaluation and diagnosis of pathology and production of sonographer reports
  • Provide clinical practice supervision and education of staff and students
  • Monitor, report and actively contribute to the development of quality improvement processes

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Sonographer:
  • Qualification in Medical Ultrasound (Graduate/Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent
  • Status as an Accredited Medical Sonographer (General) with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
  • Radiographer/Sonographer:
  • Tertiary degree as a Radiographer
  • AHPRA registration
  • Queensland Radiation Use Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time, permanent part time, temporary full time and temporary part time (several positions, hrs negotiable. Temporary contract up to 12 months)
  • Base salary ranging from $ $ per annum, $ $69.55 per hour part time

About Us

The Medical Imaging Department is expanding which provides service to numerous referring teams: Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, cancer outpatients, and various other teams. The Department operates 7 days per week with shifts ranging from early morning to late evening across the district. An Ultrasound on-call service is currently offered from late evening to early morning.
