Biosecurity Officer - Full-time position vacant at our agricultural business Kaizen Operations Pty Ltd, based at Central Bucca, NSW 2450 in the Coffs Harbour Region. Minimum 38 hours a week.

This position is to work closely with the owners to inspect blueberry, raspberry and blackberry crop, facilities, hygiene standards, disease, and pest management to ensure compliance with farm procedures, government and industry standards with respect to quality, health and licence.

Your role is to ensure farm quality control is carried out in a timely manner and to our high standards. This role is vital in ensuring that company performance targets are met in terms of produce quality, growth and production.

Annual Salary (depending on experience/skills) between $70, $80,000.00 plus superannuation. Relevant diploma qualification is required or minimum 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in a similar or closely related occupation.

Job Description:

· Inspecting blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry to identity quality issues and to provide feedback to producers.

· Auditing and monitoring quality procedures at farms and food handling and processing facilities to ensure compliance with required standards.

· Testing samples of produce for blueberry, raspberry and blackberry crop for quality, size and purity.

· Determining alternative methods to create better quality of produce.

· Ensuring that required standards of hygiene are observed at storage, processing and packing facilities and in transport vehicles.

· Advising primary producers of on economic aspects of disease eradication and informing producers and the general public of health implications of disease and impurities for the blueberry, raspberry and blackberry crop.

· Advising on the identification of pests and diseases and on regulations pertaining to grading, packing, and loading of blueberry, raspberry and blackberry products.

· Understanding biosecurity protocols.

· Assist in legal action to enforce regulations where required.

Relevant certificate 4 or diploma qualification, or minimum 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in a similar or closely related occupation.
