About the Role

This is a hands-on, live-on role ideally suited to someone with a trade background in electrical or diesel mechanics, and strong experience maintaining essential services in a remote setting.

You'll take charge of all island maintenance operations, including solar power systems, generators, desalination, refrigeration and sewage treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance of infrastructure, utilities, plant, and equipment

  • Operate and maintain:

  • Solar power systems

  • Diesel generators
  • Desalination plant
  • Sewage treatment plant
  • Water storage and distribution systems
  • Refrigeration & Air conditioning systems
  • Lead or coordinate external contractors and trades as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of servicing, safety checks, and regulatory compliance
What We're Looking For
  • Trade qualified in electrical or diesel mechanics preferably
  • Experience with solar energy systems, diesel generators, water and wastewater treatment, and desalination
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in isolated or island environments highly regarded
  • Experience managing a team
