Axil Coffee Roasters is a leading specialty coffee roastery and café which was established in 2011 in Hawthorn.

Home to  the 2022 World Barista Champion Anthony Douglas and 2023, 2024, and 2025 Australian Barista Champion Jack Simpson, we pride ourselves on building a great place to work and on fostering talent and development.

We are now on the hunt for an evening Café Manager or supervisor for our Chadstone location for an immediate start.

Applicants must have previous experience in a leadership role in hospitality, knowledge of specialty coffee and a passion for good food. Support, training and career progression is available for the right candidate.

This role will best suit someone who is looking to work a set roster Sunday to Thursday.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Full time availability, including one weekend day.
  • Motivation to take ownership of the position
  • A keen eye for detail
  • The desire to build and maintain a high-performing and well-rounded team
  • A customer-centric approach
  • Experience using a wide range of coffee making equipment including; La Marzocco, Mazzer, Mahlkonig & Ubermilk.
  • A desire to continuously learn, grow and progress within the company
  • Be a team player who is happy to jump in and help in other areas of the café as required

Your day to day will include:

  • Running Sunday & Monday shifts with a mix of open and closing shifts the rest of the week
  • Greeting guests and taking orders
  • Signing off timesheets
  • Managing stock levels and ordering stock
  • Working to a labour budget
  • Ensuring the cafe remains clean and compliant with regulations
  • Working with the manager to execute processes and standards and continue to build a great work environment.
