The role
Join us as an Apprentice Electrician and gain hands-on experience working on a wide range of electrical systems and equipment – from lighting and solar panels to air conditioning and large-scale infrastructure. Over your 4-year apprenticeship, you'll assist with general electrical maintenance and repairs on equipment, systems, and Council assets, following manufacturer specifications and Council's maintenance program, while learning to use electrical tools and equipment safely and correctly to complete tasks to the required standard. This apprenticeship will give you practical skills and knowledge to build a strong career in the electrical industry.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you'll be required to complete a pre-employment basic skills assessment and medical check
(medical assessment will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)

• Successful candidates will commence employment on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

Salary:
The salary for this traineeship ranges from approximately
$31,288 to $53,196 p.a.
in accordance with theLocal Government (State) Award. Your salary will be determined based on your age, qualifications, and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional.

Location:
Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the Taree Depot located on Arkwright Crescent, Taree.

You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure:
Full-time 38 hours per week over a 4-year period.
