The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Applications & Integration Manager to own, modernise, and uplift the application stack and day-to-day development and delivery team at Best & Less Group. This pivotal role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing delivery, support, and transformation.
About You
You will lead an experienced and embedded team through a phase of reinvention, partnering with business and IT stakeholders to identify pain points, design value-led improvements, and deliver measurable change.
You will take full ownership of our internal applications, integration layer , and support frameworks bringing structure, pace, and innovation to how we build and support our retail systems.
Your Day Will Consist Of:
- Owning the application landscape, integration layer (Boomi + .net), and all day-to-day operational support activities.
- Drive adoption of structured delivery practices versioning, documentation, testing, and quality control.
- Coach and mentor developers and analysts; build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Embed DevOps thinking and agile-lite practices into delivery cycles.
- Leading an experienced and embedded team through a phase of reinvention, partnering with business and IT stakeholders to identify pain points, design value-led improvements, and deliver measurable change.
- Taking full ownership of our internal applications, integration layer (Boomi), and support frameworks bringing structure, pace, and innovation to how we build and support our retail systems,
- Stakeholder alignment, you will energise the function, drive modern practices, and shape the future of engineering at Best & Less.
As Our IT Operations Manager, You Will Have:
- Exceptional .NET skills, a curiosity for AI and automation, and a mindset focused on progress over perfection
- 8 + years commercial software-development experience, including 3 + years in a technical-lead or engineering-management role.
- Deep expertise in C#/.NET (or equivalent modern stack), RESTful services, relational databases and cloud platforms, Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
- Hands-on exposure to DevOps, containerisation and micro-services.
- Proven success delivering enterprise-grade, customer-facing applications in retail, e-commerce or similar high-volume environments, including ERP, POS or merchandise systems
