Operations Supervisor

An exciting opportunity for an
Outbound Bulk Supervisor
has become available at our
Brisbane
branch, to join our PM Operations team.

Reporting to the Outbound Manager, your responsibilities will include coordinating branch activities and supervising staff to ensure optimum utilisation of branch resources and achieve linehaul departure targets.

We are looking for a process focused individual with high level supervisory skills, who can build team-work, ensure WHS policies and procedures are adhered to, promote a culture of respect based on Border Express Core Values and continue to provide an outstanding service to our customers.

Location: Underwood, Qld

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 2.00 PM start (approx)

Duties:

• Ensure DIFOT targets are achieved by working with your team to ensure all freight is loaded/unloaded so that it can be delivered on time, in full and with no damages;
• Ensure that resource allocation is optimised at all times to reduce costs and achieve performance measures;
• Supervise the loading/unloading of freight so that it is stored and restrained safely and effectively at all times;
• Contribute to a safe working environment and ensure that no employee is performing tasks they have not been trained to do;
• Identify and initiate employee training where performance shortfalls are recognised or opportunities for advancement are presented;
• Communicate with your team, supervisors and customers to meet agreed schedules and escalate any issues;
• Be safe and follow all Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions;
• Respond to and investigate all incidents, hazards, unsafe acts and damages without delay;
• Adhere to all relevant laws and legislation including load restraint guidelines, DG codes, road laws and council regulations;

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in the Transport Industry in a supervisory role;
• Sound knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements, Load Restraint requirements, WHS and relevant transportation Acts and Regulations;
• Ability to follow company policy and ensure all staff adhere to relevant policies and procedures;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• A strong customer service focus.
