We're all here to deliver great retirement outcomes for our members. We have a long history with the University sector and today we're a place where future-minded Australians can all come together. We have a track record of success and a culture focused on being the best place to work in superannuation. We'll achieve this by bringing our values to life in everything we do – genuine care, being better together and a passion for outcomes. We have a clear plan of what we need to do and want you to help lead that journey.
The purpose of Risk & Legal is to help our business partners succeed via valued risk and compliance advice, whilst safeguarding UniSuper through effective controls assurance and oversight.
The opportunity
This role sits within the Enterprise Risk team and is responsible for developing and managing the content of regular risk reporting to the Board, Committees, and Executive Leadership Team, as well as managing the completion of specific Risk & Assurance initiatives. You will play a key role in fostering a risk-aware culture and promoting informed decision-making across the business.
Your key objectives will include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders (Risk Data Analysts, Line 1 Risk Managers, Risk Advisory Managers) to source and standardise content for risk reporting.
- Delivering timely, relevant, and accurate risk reporting to senior forums and providing deep dive insights and themes.
- Uplifting reporting quality and efficiency through automation, data quality improvements, and GRC system enhancements.
- Managing the GRC system vendor (RADAR and Protecht), guiding system strategy and administration, and ensuring data integrity.
- Supporting the maintenance of Risk and Assurance policies.
- Project managing specific initiatives, including designing artefacts, tracking progress, and reporting on milestones and compliance.
About you
In this exciting new role, you will be an integral part of the transformative journey that shapes how we deliver exceptional customer experiences and where our customers need us most. For this reason, we are looking for someone who has experience working in a fast-moving transformation environment and is comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity.
Furthermore you will bring:
- A commercial mindset and ability to deliver business insights that support strategic objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that prompt action and engagement.
- Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- A collaborative and transparent approach, with the ability to influence and maintain feedback loops.
- Proactive problem-solving and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail in assessing data quality and identifying insights.
- Strong risk and project management experience, ideally in superannuation or financial services.
- Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework governing superannuation and funds management.
We believe that the best way to achieve great things is when we come together and collaborate. Therefore, we ask you to be able to commit to 60% of your time in office.
UniSuper's high performance culture is supported by a range of benefits that demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our employees achieve their full potential, thrive, and grow their career with us. These include:
- A personal development budget of $1500 to support employees in their professional growth
- Exceptional parental leave to support employees in balancing their work and family responsibilities
- Mental, physical and financial well-being initiatives
At UniSuper, we value and celebrate diversity and inclusion in our workplace, where everybody can thrive. We believe that having a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, interests, abilities, and skills is crucial for delivering great retirement outcomes for our members.
