The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee fixed plant, mobile plant, and on-road maintenance across our quarry operations. This role is based at Coolibah Quarry in Moranbah, QLD and plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and minimised downtime.

You'll lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities, working closely with our site supervisors, contractors, and senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance for fixed plant (crushers, conveyors, screens, pugmills, batching plants, etc.)
  • Manage servicing and repairs for mobile plant and heavy vehicles (loaders, dump trucks, excavators, agitators, road trains, water carts, etc.)
  • Lead maintenance meetings, shutdown schedules, and performance reporting
  • Ensure compliance with QLD Mining & Quarrying Safety & Health Act 1999, HVNL and Quarrico SHMS
  • Coordinate contractor inductions, permits, and safety documentation
  • Track maintenance KPIs, costs, downtime, and plant availability using digital systems (Zoho)
  • Identify improvement projects, upgrades, and reliability enhancements
  • Provide hands-on support, technical guidance, and mentoring to the maintenance crew
  • Lead a culture of safety and proactive problem solving

Skills & Experience

  • Trade-qualified professional with proven experience in fixed and mobile plant maintenance
  • Previous leadership in a quarry, mining, or heavy industrial setting essential
  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance, SHMS, isolations, and risk management
  • Ability to manage contractors, shutdowns, and large maintenance programs
  • Competency with maintenance systems (e.g. Zoho or similar)
  • HR class licence (manual gearbox experience preferred)
  • Physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A screening
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
