Backend Developer (Mid-Senior) - 6 Month Rolling Contract

Up to $750 p/d inc. super | Immediate Start | Sydney Based

Our client is looking for a mid-senior level Backend Developer to join their growing digital team on a 6-month rolling contract. This role will see you design and build scalable backend services, working on high-impact features that directly improve customer experiences. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, QA specialists, and other backend developers in a fast-paced agile environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and developing APIs and integrating with third-party systems.
  • Building and maintaining TypeScript AWS Lambda functions for event-driven solutions.
  • Implementing and monitoring data sync across distributed systems.
  • Writing and executing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end).
  • Debugging, troubleshooting, and supporting production applications.
  • Delivering secure, high-performance, cloud-native systems.
  • Participating in code reviews and shaping development best practices.

What We're Looking For

Technical Experience:

  • 4+ years in backend development , Java).
  • Strong cloud expertise (AWS or GCP preferred).
  • Experience with microservices architecture and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data privacy/security standards (GDPR is a plus).

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile delivery environment.
