As a Technical Lead specializing in Magento and Pimcore, you will be responsible for guiding and managing a team of developers to deliver high-quality e-commerce solutions. You will provide technical leadership, ensure best practices are followed, and participate in hands-on development. Your role will involve overseeing the technical aspects of projects, mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful delivery of client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical direction and leadership for projects involving Magento and Pimcore.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development workflows.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in e-commerce and PHP development.
  • Keep current with technology and developments within the technology space;
  • In collaboration with the Chief Product Officer, lead technology strategy;
  • Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications;
  • Responsible for the evaluation and development of initial engineering process;
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into projects.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers.
  • Act as a mentor to fellow Engineers, sharing knowledge and contributing to the team's continued growth and improvement;
  • Mentor and support team members in their professional development.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities based on team members' strengths and project requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and productive team environment.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional growth and development.

Project Sales & Management liaison

  • Collaborate with Sales Team, Business Analyst, and/or Solution Architect, to assist in providing estimates for upcoming projects and/or tasks.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Assist with technical advice to break down complex projects into manageable tasks and milestones.
  • Monitor task progress of you and your team, identify potential issues, and suggest/implement solutions to keep tasks on track.
  • Assist PM to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and assist PM/SA to suggest or implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure timely delivery of tasks while maintaining high standards of quality.

Development & Implementation

  • Participate in hands-on development, particularly for critical or complex components.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain Magento and Pimcore-based solutions.
  • Integrate third-party extensions and develop custom modules as needed.
  • Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of e-commerce solutions.
  • Manage a project's CI/CD chain, deployments, & releases, & other technical processes according to established standards.
  • Participate in product design and development of new features.
  • Design, code, and troubleshoot new features, while debugging as necessary;
  • Work closely with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic;
  • Write clean code to develop functional web applications;
  • Ensure high-quality code and optimize applications for performance.
  • Review and provide feedback on code and design.
  • Manage tools and processes for handling analytics data and metrics that measure and evaluate quality of user experience;

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with designers, QA testers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Work with back-end and front-end engineering team to integrate and produce a great and reliable user experience;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development with business goals.
  • Communicate technical concepts and project status to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and progress updates.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and technical expertise.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience with PHP development and related frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of Magento 1 and 2, including custom module development.
  • Hands-on experience with Pimcore implementation and customization.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery).
  • Experience with MySQL databases and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring development teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an e-commerce or digital agency environment.
  • Certifications in Magento, Pimcore, or related technologies.
  • Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce, Shopify).
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Understanding of SEO and performance optimization.
