About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative medical leader to join the Rural Support Service as the Rural Clinical (Medical) Advisor – Stroke Services. In this role, you will provide expert clinical leadership and oversight of the stroke services portfolio, supporting regional Local Health Networks (LHNs) to deliver safe, sustainable and high-quality stroke care for country South Australians.

With a strong focus on improving access to 24/7 acute stroke services, you will help shape models of care, strengthen clinical governance, and foster partnerships that enhance outcomes for patients across regional SA.

How Will You Contribute

• Provide expert clinical leadership for the stroke services portfolio, ensuring best practice models of care across regional SA.
• Support regional LHNs to deliver safe, evidence-based, and sustainable acute stroke services, including Telestroke service oversight.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with metropolitan networks, Aboriginal health services, SAAS, MedSTAR, and national stroke bodies.
• Drive continuous improvement through governance participation, quality assurance, research initiatives, and workforce planning.
