Canberra, ACT, Australia AAR Consulting Group PL Full time $104,000 - $156,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced ICT Master Scheduler to play a critical role in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects within a major federal government department. This is an EL1/EL2 equivalent contract role with an initial term until 30 June 2026 and up to 2 x 12-month extensions.

About the Role As a Master Scheduler, you will develop and maintain a consolidated branch-level master schedule to support ICT infrastructure projects that underpin national operations. You will work closely with project managers, technical leads, workforce planners, and governance bodies to provide accurate, actionable insights for senior decision-making.

This role requires a highly organised professional who can manage interdependencies, monitor risks, and deliver executive-ready reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a branch-wide integrated master schedule for ICT programs and projects.
  • Schedule key milestones, dependencies, and high-level delivery phases across multiple initiatives.
  • Incorporate workforce capacity and availability data to ensure realistic and achievable timelines.
  • Analyse project overlaps, recommend sequencing adjustments, and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Produce dashboard reporting and visual outputs (Gantt charts, heat maps, milestone trackers) tailored for governance and executive briefings.
  • Provide mentoring, walkthroughs, and scheduling toolkits/templates to uplift capability across the branch.

Skills and Experience Required

Essential

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in ICT infrastructure project environments.
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining integrated program-level schedules for large ICT programs.
  • Experience incorporating workforce data (capacity, skillsets, BAU vs project allocation) into schedules.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical, project, and governance teams.

Desirable

  • Prior experience delivering master schedules in ICT infrastructure environments.
  • Strong reporting and data visualisation capability using tools such as MS Project, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide forward-planning insights for senior decision-making.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance (Australian citizenship required).
  • Full-time on-site for the first 3 months, then hybrid (minimum 3 days Canberra office).
  • Up to 40 hours per week.

Why Apply? This is a unique opportunity to join a high-profile program that supports critical ICT infrastructure across government. You will play a key role in shaping delivery outcomes and ensuring efficient use of resources in a complex environment.
