Curriculum Leader – English (1.0 FTE Permanent Teaching and Tenured PAR)

Commencing January 2026

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and student-focused secondary teacher who enjoys leading a team of educators, as the Curriculum Leader - English. Share your love of literature and lead a team of teachers who are focused on developing students' skills in reading and writing.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the English department, Years 7 to 12, with a clear vision for curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
• Lead the collaborative design, document and review a rigorous program aligned to the Australian Curriculum and QCE
• Drive high-impact teaching practice by modelling quality instruction, coaching staff and building a aligned team through mentoring and professional learning
• Lead data-informed improvement cycles using assessment and NAPLAN insights, ensuring consistent assessment, moderation and reporting
• Oversee Senior English and Literature with full QCAA compliance, including IA development, marking and moderation
• Curate resources and manage budgets to support diverse learners and inclusive practice, while championing whole-school literacy
• Engage parents and the wider community, uphold student wellbeing and child safety, and contribute to strategic planning as a leader

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Education
• Current QCT registration (or the ability to obtain)
• Deep knowledge of Years 7 to 12 English curriculum and assessment standards
• Demonstrated values-based leadership expertise. Being a leader who lifts standards and empowers colleagues; because great teaching (and learning) thrives in an energised, supportive team
• Forward thinking leader who champions advancements in teaching. Someone who thinks about where education is going next.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

4.    Outline your philosophy on what constitutes a quality English education and how to deliver the content so that it prepares students for life beyond school.
