About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Environmental Services Assistant (Housekeeper) to join our team at Noosa Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors, in line with Infection Control and Workplace Health & Safety standards.

Working under the direction of our Housekeeping Team Leaders, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the hospital. This is a fast-paced, team-focused environment where attention to detail and commitment to high standards are essential.

Joining our team, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across all areas, including wards and operating theatres.
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned, restocked, and stored appropriately after use.
• Adhering to infection control guidelines and principles at all times.
• Working in a friendly, supportive, and professional manner.
• Performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds, wards, and equipment (desirable).
• Identifying and promptly reporting risks or hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Carrying out other ad hoc duties as required by management.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Prior experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role (healthcare setting desirable, but not essential).
• Availability to work across a rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to also work independently when required.
• Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of infection control and hygiene principles.
• Proven ability to identify hazards and take appropriate action.
• A positive, flexible approach and willingness to adapt to the needs of the hospital.
