About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as Aircraft Maintenance Apprentices.

Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, this role offers the opportunity to develop key skills, gain hands-on experience, and work towards earning a Diploma in AeroSkills.

We have the following apprenticeship positions available in our Perth Base:

  • 2 x B1 (Mechanical) Apprenticeships
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in carrying out scheduled aircraft maintenance tasks and help troubleshoot and repair defects using approved maintenance data.
  • Accurately complete maintenance documentation in line with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Record and report any defects found to the Certifying Employee and on the correct Maintenance Record.
  • Take responsibility for your own tools, ensuring they are accounted for and maintained.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of hangars, workshops, work areas, and vehicles.
  • Ensure all issued aeronautical products, standard parts, and materials are stored correctly according to procedures.
  • Follow all Engineering Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support and promote the Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS), and a Just Culture environment.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by a LAME, Leading Hand, Senior Base Engineer, or Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain an up-to-date apprenticeship journal.
  • Complete all required aviation-related study as part of the apprenticeship program.
Selection Criteria
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Hold a valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card
  • Ability to pass a literacy and numeracy test

  • Knowledge of the following:

  • CASR Part 145 regulations

  • Aviation Maintenance
  • Aircraft Ground Handling & Towing
