Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid (remote and on-site) role for a Software Engineer located in the Greater Melbourne Area. We are seeking a Junior to Mid Level Software Engineer with a passion for sports, prediction markets, and AI to join our growing team. You will be responsible for building scalable features, integrating AI-driven components, and helping shape the next generation of sports prediction products.You are joining a start up with a proven team with the expectation is to hit the ground running and to be ready to roll up your sleeves

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy new features for the BALLGAME.COM platform.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Work with APIs, databases, and real-time data streams for live sports and prediction markets.
  • Assist in integrating AI and machine learning models to enhance user engagement and insights.
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability through best practices and modern frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile development processes.

Skills and Experience

  • 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Rust).
  • Experience with React, , or similar frameworks for web applications.
  • Experience with working with MCPs.
  • Experience with building on web3 rails and or smart contracts.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and API integrations.
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and willingness to learn more.
  • Interest or background in sports, betting, or prediction markets is a huge plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Exposure to real-time systems (WebSockets, event-driven architecture).
  • Understanding of web3 technologies or crypto-based payment systems.
  • Experience with data visualization for sports or financial markets.
  • An obsession with sports.
