About the role

As the Sous Chef at Lalla Rookh Bar And Eating House in the heart of Perth, you will play a vital role in leading the kitchen team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our customers. This full-time position will see you working alongside the Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations and manage the day-to-day activities of the culinary team.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing innovative seasonal menus that showcase the finest locally sourced ingredients
  2. Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team, delegating tasks and providing hands-on training to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
  3. Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, implementing effective quality control measures
  4. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service and an exceptional dining experience for our guests
  5. Monitor stock levels and liaise with suppliers to maintain a well-stocked and organised kitchen
  6. Contribute to the development and implementation of new recipes, techniques and kitchen procedures
  7. Foster a positive, productive and cohesive work environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
  2. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of chefs, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  3. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures
  4. Creativity and a passion for developing innovative, flavourful dishes that delight our customers
  5. Strong time management and problem-solving skills to effectively manage a busy kitchen
  6. Qualifications in Hospitality or Culinary Arts would be highly regarded
