Legal Assistant/Paralegal

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant/ Paralegal to join our busy litigation team on a full-time basis. This role will suit someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys variety, and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative and legal support.

The RoleWorking closely with a team of dedicated lawyers, you'll provide a blend of legal administrative support and paralegal services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing both electronic and hard copy legal documents and files, including assisting the discovery process
- Maintaining and updating a specialised database, including generating reports for clients and lawyers
- Preparing, filing, and eLodging Court documents and other legal materials
- Preparing and collating briefs, scanning and indexing documents
- Typing and formatting correspondence and court documents
- Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and tracking deadlines
- Preparing notices and correspondence to clients, third parties, and government agencies to effect settlements of claims
- Arranging medico-legal appointments
- Preparing and issuing invoices on behalf of the litigation team
- Managing files and undertaking other administrative support tasks as required
You will bring a professional, proactive approach and a commitment to excellence in everything you do. You'll have:
- Previous legal assistant and/or paralegal work experience (essential)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A can-do attitude, initiative, and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal software
- Sound understanding of court processes and procedures
- The ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
- A proactive approach to maintaining high-quality work and supporting team goals
