Director of Innovation

Your Impact

As Director of Innovation, you will drive the delivery of Aurecon's Innovation Activation Plan, ensuring our innovation efforts directly fuel business growth, deepen client relationships, and enhance our industry leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, champion and execute Aurecon's Innovation Activation Plan by prioritising and implementing actions aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Work closely with client and project teams to solve real client challenges and advance Aurecon's opportunities.
  • Partner with the Digital and IT teams, deploy technology that captures, connects and amplifies innovations that deliver measurable client and business value.
  • Activate the Innovation network so that it is embedded in major pursuits and strategic projects.
  • Capture and scale project innovations to position Aurecon as an industry leader.
  • Partner with the executive team to integrate innovation into targeted growth areas. 
  • In collaboration with the Client & Growth team, identify emerging client problems before they arise.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with select universities.
  • Lead a small team of innovation professionals.

What We're Looking For

You combine strong technical knowledge with commercial acumen and leadership presence. You excel in dynamic, complex environments and have a history of delivering innovative, commercially successful projects. Specifically, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex and innovative, high impact projects in consulting engineering or wider built environment industry, with a strong focus on commercially positive outcomes.
  • A strong understanding of our business and clients, with the ability to shape and position innovation as a driver of business growth.
  • A proven ability to identify and turn innovation into measurable client value through projects and solving client problems.
  • An understanding of the trends and drivers of change in our industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
