Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout SE Melbourne.
- 12-year-old male participant.
- Frankston location.
- Monday(s) to Thursday(s) 8:00 am - 10:00 am (includes school drop-off), Tuesday(s) 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm/Friday(s) 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm alternating fortnightly. Ideally requiring coverage for one to two mornings per week.
- Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnosis.
- Female support workers preferred, but open to males.
- Support worker will need to show interest or be willing to engage in the topic of the participant's video games and similar activities. Often communicates through soft toys from video games.
- Seeking a fit and energetic support worker who enjoys being outside.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) experience required. Minor behaviours of concern experience favourable.
- Tasks include: basic morning routine/preparation, school drop-off (school refusal), reducing screen time, engaging in activities, encouraging eating and showering, possibility of basic community access.
- Participant interests: Gaming (Roblox/Minecraft), cars, trains, Lego and riding his scooter/bike to the local park. Experience with Roblox particularly advantageous.
- Subject to meet and greet. Shadow shift(s) provided.
We are looking for competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants
