The Opportunity

Our client is about to embark on a Program of work around their enterprise SaaS applications, whereby, they are trying to rationalise the software footprint. Specifically, looking at all the applications across the business to try and find cost cutting opportunities to consolidate or decommission systems.

Your key role will be to work with Legal, Finance, Procurement and other business areas to understand existing applications and usage. You will solutionize and map this out to see what practical changes can be made. This is a highly cross functional role so you must be excellent with stakeholders and be willing to be hands on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of software/application rationalisation efforts across multiple functions.
  • Drive consolidation of approximately 600 SaaS and business applications, assessing redundancy, usage, and value.
  • Recommend decommissioning or consolidation opportunities that enhance efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders (US, India, Australia) to facilitate alignment on tooling requirements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards tracking inventory, rationalisation progress, KPIs, and ROI.
  • Guide the execution of software procurement strategies in compliance with financial, legal, and technical frameworks.
  • Coordinate effective communication across stakeholders and ensure accountability for milestones and deliverables.
  • Operate seamlessly in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, leveraging Jira for project tracking.
  • Manage risks, issues, and change requests while escalating and problem-solving as needed.
  • Provide clear communication and reporting of progress, successes, and challenges to leadership.
  • Mentor and support project contributors across business units.
  • Champion cost-effectiveness and efficiency in software investments.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience leading complex software rationalisation or lifecycle projects within large, matrixed organisations.
  • Strong track record of hands-on project delivery at a senior level.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS models, licensing, and procurement best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches; strong Jira expertise for project tracking.
  • Previous experience in global projects is highly desirable.
