Cook / Pizza Chef – La Pizzeria Italiana

Location: Beaumaris

Employment Type: Full-time (min 35 hours/week)

We're La Pizzeria Italiana, a family-owned Italian restaurant passionate about serving authentic, fresh, and delicious Italian food. We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Pizza Chef/Cook to join our friendly kitchen team.

About the role

You'll be preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes, with a focus on traditional Italian pizza and pasta, ensuring every plate meets our high quality and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings to our recipes, as well as prep for other dishes.
  • Cook pizzas and other dishes efficiently during service
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
  • Assist with stock control and ordering
  • Work closely with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

About you

  • Previous experience as a pizza chef and cook (Italian cuisine)
  • Knowledge of dough preparation and woodfired/stone oven operation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Passion for food and attention to detail
  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience as a Pizzaiolo / Pizza Chef
  • Must be able to hand-stretch artisanal pizza dough
  • Excellent communication and presentation
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
  • Understanding food safety standards
  • Must be able and willing to work rotating roster including weekend & public holiday
