The opportunity and your impact

As our highly valued Manager, Food and Agribusiness, you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.

Reporting to the Director, Trade Services, Food and Agribusiness, you will have the opportunity to lead the F&A team in the engagement of key internal and external stakeholders and clients to achieve trade and investment outcomes within the food, agribusiness and agtech sectors. You will manage and coordinate across TIQ teams and collaborate with external government agencies to deliver food and agribusiness related action priorities in the Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy 2022–2032.

Based in (location), here's what your role will involve:

• Assist the Director to drive trade and investment commercial outcomes and contribute to the administrative and operational management including reporting on activities and outcomes.
• Manage the team's client portfolio to ensure KPI targets are met and future pipelines in priority areas are developed utilising TIQ's CRM and tools, and regularly report business outcomes to senior management.
• Drive engagement with clients and stakeholders across the F&A sector portfolio to deliver export and investment outcomes.
• Provide expert advice on trade and investment issues and opportunities for new and emerging sectors.
• Manage trade and investment activities and responses to the Trade and Investment Strategy priorities related to food and agribusiness across the division and TIQ.
• Initiate and lead innovative project activity across the F&A sector portfolio and the wider TIQ/Queensland Government.

1. Knowledge of or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire, expert sectoral knowledge and contacts across the F&A portfolio.

2. Proven leadership and team management experience, with a strong focus on trade facilitation and investment attraction. Skilled in guiding teams through complex and evolving global trade environments, while fostering collaboration, adaptability, and strategic alignment to deliver high-impact outcomes.

3. Well-developed project management and problem-solving skills, with a track record in achieving KPIs and outcomes and an ability to balance competing priorities and pressures in a high-pressured ambiguous environment

4. Thinks strategically and considers long terms goals whilst also understanding the current environment and drivers

5. Exceptional communication, consultation and negotiation skills and experience in client and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to develop, maintain and nurture collaborative working relationships in your commitment to achieving results and long-term growth in a client facing environment.
