About the role
Gilson Restaurant in South Yarra, VIC is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Sommelier to join our team. This is a contract role, providing an exciting opportunity to showcase your passion for wine and contribute to the exceptional dining experience we offer our customers.
What you'll be doing
Having the ability to curate and managing our extensive wine cellar
Providing knowledgeable recommendations and pairings to customers
Ensuring the correct storage and service of all wines
Maintaining detailed records and inventory of our wine collection
Participating in wine tastings and training to continuously expand your expertise
Contributing to the development of our wine list
What we're looking for
A qualification in Sommelier or WSET
At least 1 year of experience working as a Sommelier or in a similar wine-focused role
In-depth knowledge of wine varieties, regions and production processes
Excellent customer service skills and a passion for providing exceptional dining experiences
Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
