Configuration Manager – Major Government Program (ITSM)
We are partnering with a well-established global technology services provider supporting a major government program and are keen to speak specifically with experienced Configuration Managers who enjoy working in complex, operational environments.
This opportunity suits someone who likes bringing structure and predictability to busy service landscapes, working alongside teams that genuinely value strong ITSM and configuration management practices. Just as importantly, this environment supports ongoing career development, whether that is deepening your configuration specialisation, moving into broader service leadership, or progressing toward senior or advisory roles over time.
As a Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Owning and maturing the configuration management process across a large, multi‑vendor environment
- Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders and building meaningful and lasting professional relationships
- Provide expert advice on configuration management across the team
- Work on a range of documentation including reports, support plans and user requirements
You will work closely with technical teams, managed service providers and senior stakeholders to improve service maturity, embed better ways of working and contribute to continuous improvement, with real opportunities to take ownership of configuration management initiatives and grow your influence as the program evolves.
About you
We are looking for an ITSM practitioner with:
- Solid, practical experience in Configuration Management (typically 5+ years in configuration management or engineering roles within complex government environments would be ideal)
- A strong working knowledge of ITIL, particularly around configuration management
- Degree in engineering, systems management, or a related discipline;
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain configuration baselines across multiple projects
- Proficiency in configuration management tools and databases
- Strong communication skills, process orientated with good attention to detail
- Higher-level ITIL certifications or specialist configuration management accreditations will be highly regarded and supported as part of ongoing development
Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
- AGSVA Baseline clearance (or higher)
- ITIL v4 Foundation (higher-level ITIL certifications are welcomed)
These are permanent roles on a long-term government program, with start dates planned for January and February 2026. We are conducting comprehensive first round interviews asap.
