Job DescriptionAbout the role
The Senior Head of Product is responsible for managing, defining, building, and delivering a group of products that transform our business model for hirers and candidates, while testing and establishing an alternative way of working across Product, Technology, Design, Data Science, and Analytics.
The Senior Head of Product will lead a high-profile strategic product portfolio and drive forward the newly created Hiring Automation Domain. The Hiring Automation Domain includes our existing Smart Hire and Adjacency Development teams as well as establishing a new team focused on creating a Hiring Co-Pilot for our customers.
This role will require a strong experimental mindset to explore innovative ways of working, leveraging cross-functional teams and embedding cutting-edge agentic capabilities and data integration through AI, Agentic and MCP technologies. By championing and iterating on new approaches, this role will help shape SEEK's future operating model with an emphasis on collaboration, rapid experimentation, and continuous learning.
The position also entails responsibility for solving critical hiring challenges through AI-powered tools, workflows, and orchestration capabilities that streamline hiring processes and deliver impactful outcomes for both hirers and candidates. At times, the Senior Head of Product may also act as SEEK's representative at internal forums and external events, showcasing innovation and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of hiring technology evolution.
Finally, this role requires shared leadership of highly capable cross-functional teams, consisting of product, technology, design, analytics, and data science specialists, to drive Hiring Automation and agentic experimentation to successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
Strategic Vision & Domain Leadership:
- Develops and leads the strategy, vision, and ambition for SEEK's Hiring Automation Domain, focusing on tools and orchestration capabilities that automate and improve hirers' processes across sourcing, application, selection, and onboarding.
- Drives the test and development of a new way of working, integrating Product, Technology, Design, Data Science, and Analytics expertise to achieve shared goals and leveraging collaborative, experimental, and iterative practices.
- Establishes a single, integrated roadmap for the Hiring Automation Domain that balances near-term measurable outcomes (e.g., increased interview-to-placement conversion rates) with long-term scalable solutions (e.g., integrated agentic tools and MCP-enabled capabilities).
- Continuously monitors and adapts the team's strategies to ensure alignment with competitive trends and emerging technology, including leading experimental initiatives to evaluate the potential and application of agentic technologies.
Customer-Centric Product Design:
- Champions the voice of the customer, ensuring that product development meets unmet needs in hiring workflows while embedding AI-driven insights and behavioral data to shape outcomes across SEEK's marketplace.
- Promotes an experimental learning culture within the team by testing, iterating, and delivering AI-based solutions that reduce friction in the hirer-candidate experience while driving placement efficiency.
New Capabilities & Experimentation:
- Coaches and mentors the team on adopting an experimental mindset to refine and establish agentic design approaches and MCP architectures.
- Embeds agentic features into Hiring Automation workflows, such as orchestration capabilities and high-context decision guidance, enabling enhanced hiring outcomes for SEEK customers.
- Establishes metrics and KPIs specifically related to testing new capabilities, iterating solutions based on feedback from live testing environments and advancing best practices across SEEK.
- Explores business models to grow SEEK beyond the job ad through the Adjacencies team.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Team Building:
- Leads, inspires, and manages highly collaborative cross-functional teams that bring together experts from Product, Technology, Design, Data Science, and Analytics, aiming for rapid innovation and continuous learning in hiring automation.
- Fosters an environment where experimentation thrives, designed to test innovative ideas quickly, extract learnings, and move confidently toward scaling successful approaches.
- Develops a high-performing team culture, focused on trust, ownership, and collective success to build and deliver the Hiring Automation Domain's vision effectively.
Metric Ownership & Prioritization:
- Owns the metrics for the Hiring Automation Domain, creating a clear narrative on its performance spanning task automation, process orchestration, improved candidate-hirer outcomes and revenue growth through adjacencies.
- Works closely with product leaders, engineering, and analytics teams to monitor competitive, market, and operational metrics.
Skills and experience
- Deep experience in B2B and/or B2C product management, ideally in talent marketplaces, or similar domains. Proven ability to go from concept through to market fit and scaling, using experimental methods.
- Strong leadership capability, with a track record of building and leading multidisciplinary teams across Product, Technology, Design, Data Science, and Analytics, and fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment.
- Extensive expertise in AI technologies and software development, particularly in designing and delivering agentic tools and workflows that solve customer problems with actionable, context-driven insights.
- Familiarity with integrating and utilising new technologies and AI, and demonstrated ability to collaborate on systems designed for scalability and extensibility.
- Strong experimental and iterative mindset, curious and capable of embedding experimentation processes into the product lifecycle to consistently test assumptions and adapt based on outcomes.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, able to set ambitious roadmaps and deliver against competing priorities in a fast-paced and highly competitive environment.
- Excellent prioritization skills, balancing short-term measurable outcomes with long-term capability building for hiring automation success.
- Strong commercial acumen and judgement, with proven ability to solve complex strategic problems using data-driven approaches and behavioral insights.
- Passionate about staying ahead of technology trends and adopting innovative solutions to create competitive advantages for SEEK and its customers.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial in mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and deliver value.
