Job Description
We're looking for a
Technical Advice Manager
to join TAL's growing retirement team. This is a newly created role where you'll help shape how retirement advice is delivered across the country, working closely with some of Australia's largest super funds.

You'll be the go-to person for technical advice—making sure advisers (whether intrafund, aligned, or external) have everything they need to confidently recommend our retirement income solution. That means building tools, templates, and training that make complex strategies simple and practical.

You'll bring your deep knowledge of retirement strategies—like account-based and lifetime pensions—and help advisers understand how these work. Your work will directly support better outcomes for members at every stage of retirement.

In This Role You Will

  • Collaborate with superannuation fund partners to ensure their adviser networks are equipped to confidently recommend a new, market-leading retirement income solution.
  • Provide expert training to sales teams, advisers, and support staff on retirement products and the strategies they enable, ensuring consistent and compliant advice delivery.
  • Create high-quality materials that raise awareness of retirement income options and guide advisers on how to incorporate them into member strategies.
  • Produce insightful content, including articles and presentations, that position TAL as a leader in retirement strategy and advice innovation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the retirement proposition by collaborating with product, legal, tech, and distribution teams to refine features and experiences.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in retirement advice or a related advice role
  • Solid understanding of financial services legislation and advice regulations
  • Strong technical knowledge of retirement strategies and solutions
  • Great stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Clear communicator and confident presenter
  • Relevant qualifications in law, accountancy, financial planning or similar
  • RG146 compliant
