API Gateway Specialist – Azure API Management

We are seeking an experienced professional with 5–6 years in API Gateway technologies and 2–4 years of proven expertise in Azure API Management (APIM). The ideal candidate will bring strong skills in API lifecycle management, cloud-native architecture, security practices, and DevOps automation.

Role & Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and manage Azure API Management services, including policies, developer portals, and API lifecycle workflows.

Partner with development, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure and scalable API solutions.

Automate deployments using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.

Monitor API performance and availability through Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure adherence to governance and security standards.

Skills & Experience Required

API Management & Integration

Strong hands-on experience with Azure API Management.

Expertise in policy configuration (rate limiting, transformations, caching, etc.)

Knowledge of API lifecycle operations (import/export, versioning, revisions).

Proficiency in RESTful API design with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.

Experience setting up and customizing developer portals.

Security & Governance

Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, and API key management.

Familiarity with Azure Key Vault and RBAC-based access control.

Knowledge of compliance and governance standards in cloud environments.

DevOps & Automation

Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Scripting capabilities in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Hands-on knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent).

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Skilled in Azure monitoring and logging tools.

Ability to debug performance issues and fine-tune API behavior.
