Are you passionate about supporting employee wellbeing and driving positive outcomes in workplace health and safety? Banyule City Council is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Injury Management Advisor to join our collaborative and award-winning team.

About The Role And What You'll Love
Taking a person centred approach you'll oversee the entire injury management lifecycle - from initial incident response to rehabilitation / return to work and long-term claims handling - ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Council policies. You'll love:

You Will

  • Provide specialist advice and support to the Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator, people leaders, and the wider organisation, particularly in Injury Management, Return to Work, and Claims Management.
  • Lead the assessment and implementation of workplace accessibility solutions and reasonable adjustments for employees.
  • Liaise between internal and external stakeholders, delivering timely and accurate updates that impact Council's premiums and compliance.
  • Implement early intervention strategies to reduce the number and duration of active claims, supporting employees' safe and sustainable return to work.
  • Ensure Council meets its obligations under the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 and our Safety Management Framework.

About You/We're Looking For Someone Who Brings

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Allied Health, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in injury management and return-to-work coordination, including knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice rehabilitation strategies.
  • Experience managing WorkCover claims and liaising with insurers, medical professionals, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to design and implement tailored Return to Work plans that balance operational needs and employee wellbeing.
  • Strong understanding of workplace accessibility and reasonable adjustment principles.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and strategic reporting to inform safety and wellbeing improvements.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and resolve sensitive issues.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities.

We Offer

  • Salary $98,255.03 to $106,820.88 per annum, plus super.
  • A permanent, full-time position with a monthly RDO.
  • 26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave – partner.
